DIABLADA DE PÍLLARO EN BLANCO Y NEGRO

Sale price Price $2,000.00 Regular price $2,500.00

WORK DESCRIPTION

Mask made of fiberglass with horns of bull and ram, inspired by those made by the indigenous festivities of the "DIABLADA DE PÍLLARO" a canton in the Ecuadorian Andes. In the mask two important elements are fused, on the one hand the base of the modeling is of the mask of Guy Fawkes, widely used in the protests worldwide and the mask of Diablada de Píllaro, which is an indigenous festival born of protest of the communities against the landowners and oppressors of the last century, achieving a metamorphosis between two events marked by protest. In the decoration of the mask were used iconic elements of the Andean cultures of Ecuador, in the front we have the coat of the Cantón Píllaro, and hanging from the horns colored ribbons as a reference to the GUARICHAS, which is another important character of this festivity . The mask also has the stamps on the horns with the dates on which they were displayed to the public, as a sign of their interaction with the community.
